What is considered to be a permissible object or action in Islam is Halal. What is considered to be prohibited object or action in Islam is Haram and anything due to which you lose your consciousness is also considered as Haram in Islam. Halal is often used in reference to foods, i.e. foods that are permissible for Muslims to eat or drink under Islamic Shariʻah. The criteria specify both what foods are allowed, and how the food must be prepared. The foods addressed are mostly types of meat and animal tissue. Intoxicants and alcoholic beverages are prohibited in Islam.

Quranic verse on Halal and Haram food
-Chapter: 6 , Verse: 145
say: i do not find in that which has been revealed to me anything
forbidden for an eater to eat of except that it be what has died of
itself or blood poured fourt, or flesh of swine for that surely is
unclean-- or that which is a transgression, other than (the name of)
Allah having been invoked on it; but whoever is driven to necessity, not
desiring nor exceeding the limit, then surely your lord is forgiving,
merciful.
